The New Beats, by S. H. Fernando Jr., is one of the most exhaustive accounts of the birth and development of Hip-hop culture over the past quarter-century.

My speculative redesign of the book focuses on capturing the energy and vitality of Hip-hop music and culture without relying on 'retro' stylistic reference to the 70s and 80s.
